If you are expecting to watch a second season of Duets this summer, forget it. You’re out of luck.

That is because Quddus, host of ABC’s Duets posted on his Facebook page in September, that the show will not be returning for a second season. The music competition show that had a lot of star power just simply didn’t have the ingredients to sustain the competitive market for these type of shows. Robin Thicke, Jennifer Nettles, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend, judges for the show have since moved on to other projects given the announcement. An insider close to the production shared that “it simply didn’t make [monetary] sense.” Apparently there were limitations on ways to monetize the show through iTunes given publishing restrictions, a lack of product placement, and simply the numbers didn’t add up.
